This three volume exposition of the Bhagavad Gita is rich in keys to help you access the fascinating messages contained within this ancient scripture. Chris, John, Mansukh and Savitri write in a friendly, conversational style that makes the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita easily available to you and I.

Each of the three volumes covers six of the eighteen chapters in this allegorical tale of a great battle. The battle actually represents the powerful forces which compete for supremacy within our own minds – the greatest battlefield of all.

The first part of each book is a magnificent retelling of the Gita’s story and its main characters by Mansukh Patel. The second part of each book gives the verses of the Gita. Each verse has the Sanskrit text and its translation into English. This is followed by a commentary by Chris, John, Savitri and Mansukh which opens up the meaning of the verse.

One of the unique features of this series of books is the way the authors engage the reader to interact with the knowledge in the verses so they become very practical and applicable.  Chris, John, Mansukh and Savitri pose questions which cause us to search for our own interpretation and in many cases come up with  a practical action to do that day in order to anchor the lesson.

As a Dru Yoga Teacher trainer I find this particular exposition of the Bhagavad Gita very useful for my mainly Western student teachers. It easily makes the wisdom of this scripture available to them in ways they can relate to and make use of in their own search for truth.

Breath of the Hero
In their book The Dance Between Joy & Pain, Rita Goswami and Mansukh Patel recommend the Breath of the Hero to help alleviate and transform guilt to freedom. Guilt creates a major roadblock to living an authentic life and is a marriage of two emotions, regret and resentment. This is why it can be so difficult for most people to process.
